Oyo State Government Allocates N500m for New Air Force Base in Ibadan
Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has committed N500 million for the construction of the 671 Air Force Base in Ajia, Ibadan, aiming to enhance security and promote economic growth in the region. This initiative is part of a broader strategy to improve Oyo's security infrastructure and foster development.

Governor Seyi Makinde announced a donation of N500 million for the construction of the 671 Air Force Base in Ajia, Ibadan, during the ground-breaking ceremony. The project is expected to enhance the operational capacity of the Nigerian Air Force and improve response times to security threats in the state.
The Oyo State Government has provided 58.58 hectares of land for the base and is also reconstructing the 21km Airport-Ajia-New Ife Express Road. This new base will serve as a permanent site for the Air Force, facilitating better internal security operations in the South-West region. The establishment of the base is aligned with Oyo State's vision for robust security and economic expansion.
