P6.6 Billion Rehabilitation Funds for Cebu Province Pending Release
Cebu Province is awaiting the release of P6.6 billion in rehabilitation funds nearly one year after disasters. The delay hinders recovery efforts essential for restoring infrastructure and enhancing future disaster resilience.

Cebu Province has not yet received P6.6 billion in National Government rehabilitation funding, crucial for recovery from a magnitude 6.9 earthquake and typhoon Tino in 2025. The Regional Development Council (RDC) 7 has urged national agencies to expedite this release to facilitate essential repairs to roads, bridges, and schools.
Of the proposed P4.5 billion for 148 repair projects by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) 7, only P856 million has been allocated. Additionally, the council seeks P2.9 billion from the Department of National Defense to aid recovery in various Cebu municipalities. The ongoing delay in fund disbursement may significantly impact the province's infrastructure restoration and disaster preparedness initiatives.
