Packet Digital, along with its subsidiary Badland Batteries, received a $9.8 million contract from the U.S. Navy for Phase 3 of its battery development program. Following the completion of Phase 2, which involved the design and construction of a battery cell manufacturing facility, Phase 3 aims to increase production rates and validate material supply chains.
The factory is set to support various lithium-ion chemistries, enhancing the domestic defense supply chain. This advancement reflects a commitment to U.S. manufacturing and national defense readiness, potentially impacting future defense capabilities and commercial markets.
