Pakistan Engages Multiple Countries for JF-17 Fighter Jet Sales

DEFENSE

Pakistan's Defence Production Minister Raza Hayat Harraj confirmed ongoing negotiations with various countries for the sale of JF-17 Thunder fighter jets, a product of joint development with China. The jets, priced between $40-50 million, have drawn interest from nations like Bangladesh, Saudi Arabia, and Azerbaijan.

Discussions have included potential deals with Saudi Arabia to convert $2 billion in loans into a JF-17 agreement. The Pakistani Air Force has showcased the jets' capabilities, particularly during a recent conflict with India.

Joint production involves contributions from both Pakistan and China, with the latter controlling much of the technology. Pakistan aims to leverage its defence exports for economic growth and increased foreign investment.
