Pakistan Engages US Lobbyists to Enhance Defense and Mineral Investments
Pakistan has contracted the Ervin Graves Strategy Group for a two-year, $1.2 million lobbying effort aimed at improving defense cooperation and attracting mineral investment from the U.S. This initiative is critical for translating recent diplomatic goodwill into substantial bilateral gains amid fluctuating relations with the Trump administration.

Beginning in May, Pakistan's $1.2 million lobbying agreement with Ervin Graves Strategy Group seeks to enhance security cooperation and mineral investments with the U.S. The contract includes liaising with Congress and key government officials, doubling the previous monthly payment to $50,000.
Pakistan's strategic interests focus on critical minerals and counterterrorism, particularly in light of threats from Afghanistan. The lobbying aims to revitalize the Defense Consultative Group, which has waned since U.S. aid declined post-2011.
While ties are challenged by historical fluctuations, the U.S. has pledged $1.25 billion for Balochistan's mining sector. Economic stability in Pakistan will be vital for sustained U.S. interest.
