Pakistan Interior Minister Reviews NDMA's Disaster Management Strategies and Early Warning Systems
Pakistan's Interior Minister Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi reviewed disaster management strategies and early warning systems at the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) headquarters, focusing on the country's disaster risk outlook for 2026. He praised NDMA's integrated approach and proposed including disaster preparedness in civil defense training. The visit underscored a commitment to enhancing Pakistan's disaster resilience through improved training and capacity development.

Federal Minister for Interior and Narcotics Control Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi visited the National Emergencies Operation Center (NEOC) at the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) headquarters to review disaster preparedness mechanisms and early warning systems. The visit included briefings on Pakistan's disaster risk outlook for 2026, seasonal hazard patterns, and the Global Disaster App.
NDMA Chairman Lt Gen Inam Haider Malik emphasized the authority's role in disaster management and coordination. Naqvi commended NDMA's integrated approach and suggested incorporating disaster preparedness into civil defense training through the Civil Defense Academy.
He also visited NDMA's Centre of Excellence for Climate Change and Disaster Management, focusing on its training and capacity development roles. The visit concluded with a commitment to enhance Pakistan's disaster resilience.
