Pakistani JeM Commander Usman Killed in Joint Army-Police Operation in Jammu and Kashmir

A Pakistani terrorist linked to the Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM), identified as commander Usman, was killed in a joint operation by the Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police in Kathua district on January 23. The operation, named Operation Parhetar, was initiated based on specific intelligence inputs indicating Usman's presence in the area.

Security forces recovered significant arms and ammunition, including an M4 automatic rifle, from the scene. The operation involved an exchange of gunfire after the terrorists opened fire on security personnel.

Following the encounter, ongoing search operations are being conducted to track down other members of the JeM group. The authorities have also increased security measures across Kashmir in anticipation of the upcoming Republic Day celebrations.
