Panther Tyres Expands Solar Capacity by 3.5MW Amid Fuel Shortages
Panther Tyres Limited is enhancing its renewable energy strategy with a new 3.5MW solar installation, boosting total capacity to 6MW. This move is critical as Pakistan faces significant fuel supply challenges, incentivizing a shift toward solar energy solutions.
Panther Tyres Limited is installing a 3.5MW solar power system at its facility, raising its total renewable energy capacity to 6MW. The project, contracted to a solar solutions provider, involves high-efficiency Jinko 720W solar panels and Huawei inverters.
This expansion is projected to reduce carbon emissions by approximately 4,700 metric tons annually, equating to the environmental benefit of planting about 220,000 trees. Amid Pakistan's ongoing energy crisis, characterized by reliance on imported fuels and recent geopolitical tensions, businesses are increasingly adopting solar energy as a cost-effective alternative. The government has implemented conservation measures, signaling a broader transition to renewable sources.
