Parliamentary Defence Panel Recommends Modernisation and Timely Procurement for Indian Armed Forces
A Parliamentary committee has urged the Defence Ministry to enhance India's military preparedness for modern and hybrid warfare. In a report, the panel emphasized the need for timely procurement processes to avoid obsolescence of military equipment and recommended planning for sixth-generation aircraft. The committee also highlighted the importance of integrating national technology initiatives for a robust digital infrastructure and called for increased budgetary allocations to support armed forces modernization.

The Parliamentary Standing Committee on Defence emphasized the need for modernizing India's military and enhancing preparedness for hybrid warfare. The report urged the Defence Ministry to ensure timely procurement processes to prevent equipment obsolescence, recommending planning for sixth-generation aircraft to maintain combat capabilities.
It noted significant increases in indigenisation efforts by the Navy and called for adequate financial resources for the Air Force to support near-space operations. Additionally, the committee stressed the importance of adherence to timelines for technological delivery and urged greater budget allocations to sustain modernization amidst evolving security challenges.
