PCMC Road Repairs Delayed Ahead of Monsoon Season
Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation's road repairs are unlikely to be completed before the monsoon, risking further deterioration. Delays are attributed to election regulations, excavation for pipeline projects, and rising material costs.

Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) faces significant delays in completing road repairs before the monsoon. A survey identified 56 road sections needing urgent repairs, yet only six work orders have been issued.
The estimated cost for comprehensive repairs across 305km of roads is approximately Rs 243 crore, with only Rs 30-40 crore likely to be approved before the election code. Delays in tender finalization and increased excavation for Maharashtra Natural Gas Limited projects further hinder progress. Potholes during the rains will be addressed reactively, but comprehensive repairs are postponed until after the monsoon, which may exacerbate safety risks for commuters.
