Pentagon's New Joint Warfighting Concept Revealed by Gen. Hyten
The Pentagon has introduced a new Joint Warfighting Concept focusing on technological innovation and operational flexibility. This strategy aims to enhance U.S. military effectiveness against evolving threats, particularly from China.

The Pentagon's newly unveiled Joint Warfighting Concept emphasizes technological innovation and operational adaptability in response to insights gained from an October war-game failure. The concept identifies four key focus areas: information advantage, joint command and control, joint fires, and contested logistics, aiming to redefine how the U.S. engages adversaries.
Gen. John Hyten stressed the need to aggregate and disaggregate capabilities for effective combat. He noted the importance of leveraging data and addressing bureaucratic obstacles in defense tech, citing the innovative edge of smaller firms. The directives were presented following a recent visit to various defense firms, highlighting a push for rapid adaptation within the Department of Defense as Hyten approaches retirement.
