Pertamina's Renewable Energy Program Enhances Resilience in Indonesian Villages
Pertamina's Desa Energi Berdikari (DEB) program is transforming rural economies in Indonesia through renewable energy initiatives, boosting productivity and income while reducing carbon emissions. This program supports Pertamina's commitment to sustainability and contributes to the national energy transition.

Pertamina's Desa Energi Berdikari (DEB) program has established 252 renewable energy initiatives across Indonesia, with 64% located outside Java. In Desa Padang Sakti, a solar power plant (4.4 kWp) has increased shrimp farming productivity by 40%, generating additional monthly income of Rp 6-8 million for residents.
The program contributes an economic value of Rp 5.5 billion annually and reduces CO2 emissions by 1.09 million tons. Pertamina's efforts have been recognized globally, receiving the SEAL Award 2026 for Environmental Initiative. The company's commitment to clean energy aligns with Indonesia's National Energy Plan and aims for net zero emissions by 2060.
