Peru Government Initiates Reconstruction Efforts After Junin Earthquake
Peru's President Fujimori visits Junin following a deadly earthquake that killed five and affected hundreds. The government is mobilizing resources for support and reconstruction, urging private sector involvement.

President Fujimori, alongside key ministers, visited the Chongos Bajo district in Junin, which suffered significant damage from a recent earthquake. The government has declared a state of emergency in Chupaca province to facilitate necessary rehabilitation efforts.
Fujimori emphasized that the administration will be actively involved in the support and reconstruction process for affected families, assuring them that they are not alone. The government is also calling on the private sector to contribute to recovery initiatives. Enhanced coordination with regional and local authorities, as well as the National Civil Defense Institute (INDECI), is expected to streamline the response to the disaster.
