Philippine Army Discovers High-Powered Firearms in Surigao del Sur
On March 24, the 36th Infantry Battalion of the Philippine Army discovered several high-powered firearms, including a Czech VZ rifle and two 5.56mm carbines, during operations in Surigao del Sur. The find is attributed to local resident cooperation. This follows an earlier encounter on March 22 where two members of the Communist Terrorist Group were neutralized and four firearms seized. Additionally, the Philippine National Police reported that 15 individuals surrendered from March 15 to 21, including members of armed groups, indicating a shift toward peace.

This follows a March 22 encounter where two members of the Communist Terrorist Group were neutralized, and four firearms were seized. Separately, the Philippine National Police reported that from March 15 to 21, 15 individuals, including two from the New People's Army and eight from the Cordillera Freedom Organization, surrendered, showing a trend towards peace.
