Philippine Army Recovers Weapons Cache in Quezon Linked to Communist Group
The Philippine Army's 80th Infantry Battalion recovered a cache of weapons in Barangay Tanauan, Real, Quezon, on Sunday, following a tip-off from a resident. The cache included one M1 Carbine rifle, one improvised M16 rifle, one hand grenade, and various ammunition types totaling 14 rounds of 7.62 mm, 507 rounds of 5.56 mm, 25 rounds of .38 caliber, 70 rounds of .45 caliber, and four shotgun slugs, along with three magazines.
This operation is part of ongoing efforts by Joint Task Group 7-2 to neutralize armed threats in the area, particularly against the weakened Komiteng Rehiyon ng Gitnang Luzon and Komiteng Larangan ng Gitnang Luzon groups. BGen.
