The Philippine Army's 10th Infantry Division (10ID) has announced that all 84 cities and municipalities within its operational area are now insurgency-free, making it the first infantry division in the Philippines to achieve this status. Major Ruben Gadut confirmed this during a conference.
The declaration follows extensive counterinsurgency efforts against the New People's Army in Mindanao. Previous declarations include Davao City in March 2022 and others throughout 2022, culminating in the Davao Region's overall status on October 12, 2022. The division oversees security in southern Mindanao and plans to maintain military presence to ensure stability.
