Phoenix's International assisted the Naval Sea System Command with the recovery of an MH-60R helicopter and an F/A-18F Super Hornet off the USS Nimitz in the South China Sea on Oct. 26. Both aircraft went down during routine operations, with all crew members rescued.

Phoenix mobilized from Singapore, employing search assets aboard an Anchor Handling Tug Supply vessel and recovery assets on Construction Support Vessel VOO. Utilizing towed pinger locator technology and side-scan sonar, both aircraft were located.

A SUPSALV Remotely Operated Vehicle Hydros was deployed for recovery. On Dec. 5, both aircraft were successfully retrieved and placed on deck of VOO after overcoming challenging conditions.
