PI AgSciences Receives EPA Registration for PHC68949 Biochemical Pesticide Against Nematodes
PI AgSciences, Inc. announced EPA registration for PHC68949, a biochemical pesticide for crop defense against parasitic nematodes. This technology, based on the PREtec™ platform, is the first foliar-applied active ingredient of its kind and will be available for various crops, including soybeans and corn. It is already commercialized in Brazil and Mexico, with promising results in U.S. field trials. The product aims to enhance crop yield and quality while offering flexibility as both a seed treatment and foliar application.

PI AgSciences, Inc. has obtained EPA registration for PHC68949, a novel biochemical technology targeting parasitic nematodes in crops. This marks the third active ingredient introduced by the company in the U.S.
PHC68949 stimulates plant defense responses and is applicable to a variety of crops, including tree fruit, nuts, soybeans, and corn. Previously commercialized in Brazil and Mexico, it is recognized for effectively reducing nematode impact.
The product will be available as a seed treatment and foliar application, with distribution through partners like Wilbur-Ellis. Market introduction will follow state-level regulatory approvals.
