The Presidential Initiative on Compressed Natural Gas and Electric Vehicles (Pi-CNG) has partnered with China's You Jie Te Environment Technology Ltd (YJT) to localise the production of CNG and electric vehicle (EV) infrastructure in Nigeria. The partnership, formalised through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) during a Pi-CNG delegation visit to YJT facilities in Chengdu and Hangzhou, aims to enhance local manufacturing of CNG dispensers, refuelling stations, and EV charging facilities.

Integrating YJT's Internet of Things (IoT) monitoring solutions with Pi-CNG's National Gas Vehicle Monitoring System (NGVMS) will enable real-time monitoring across CNG and EV stations. The agreement also includes plans for local assembly and full-scale manufacturing in Nigeria, aiming to reduce reliance on imports, lower costs, and create jobs while promoting sustainable energy solutions. This initiative aligns with Nigeria’s goals for cleaner transport energy and broader economic development.
