Picket Defense Unveils Inferno RTC Drone Defense System at SOF Week 2026
The Inferno RTC can neutralize swarms of kamikaze drones in under 3 seconds using 54 fixed barrels without radar. This technology represents a significant shift from traditional electronic-dependent systems, offering a cost-effective alternative for drone defense.

Picket Defense Systems introduced the Inferno RTC, a hemispherical rotating tower designed to counter drone swarms, during SOF Week 2026 in Tampa from May 18-21. The system employs a continuous rotation mechanism with 54 fixed barrels that can fire five different calibers, optimized for specific drone types.
Detection is achieved through a passive system using 3D microphones and optical cameras, allowing for silent operation without radar. The technology responds to evolving threats, as seen in recent conflicts in Ukraine and Israel, where inexpensive drones have outmatched costly air defense systems.
This innovation could significantly impact Brazil's approach to drone defense, which currently relies on expensive imported systems. The adoption of such technologies could reshape defense budgets and strategies.
