Pivotal Achieves AS9100D Certification for eVTOL Manufacturing in North America
Pivotal has earned AS9100D certification for its Quality Management System (QMS), becoming the first North American eVTOL manufacturer to achieve this standard. This certification validates Pivotal's operational discipline, risk management, and manufacturing excellence, crucial for aircraft production.
The certification was awarded after a comprehensive audit of its Palo Alto facilities, with collaboration from Verify Inc. and certification by IAOCP Systems Certification Body. Pivotal's QMS integrates quality across business functions, emphasizing safety and customer satisfaction.
The company plans to ramp up manufacturing of its next-generation aircraft, the Helix, with sales starting in January 2024. The AS9100D standard includes over 100 additional aerospace-specific requirements, ensuring compliance with ISO 9001:2015 benchmarks. Pivotal's technology is positioned for various applications including recreation, commuting, defense, and public safety.
