Plateau State Launches CNG Training Program for 120 Youths in Collaboration with NCDMB and Thermolinks Ltd.
The Plateau State Government, in partnership with the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board and Thermolinks Ltd., has launched a five-day training program on Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) conversion for 120 youths in Jos. Deputy Governor Josephine Piyo emphasized the initiative's alignment with the National Gas Expansion Programme, focusing on youth empowerment and skills acquisition. Participants will receive practical training, starter toolkits, and certification, addressing the rising demand for CNG technicians as more heavy-duty trucks transition to CNG.

The Plateau State Government, alongside the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board and Thermolinks Ltd., inaugurated a five-day training program on Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) conversion for 120 youths in Jos. Deputy Governor Josephine Piyo stated the initiative supports the Federal Government's National Gas Expansion Programme and prioritizes youth empowerment and skills acquisition.
Each participant will receive a starter toolkit and two certificates. The program addresses the increasing demand for CNG technicians, as over 70% of new heavy-duty trucks are now CNG-operated. The state is also exploring partnerships to establish a CNG conversion center in Jos, while appealing for federal support for CNG infrastructure.
