PLR Systems Secures INR 11.08 Billion CQB Carbine Contract from Indian Ministry of Defence
PLR Systems Private Limited, a joint venture of Adani Defence & Aerospace and Israel Weapon Industries, has secured an INR 11.08 billion contract from the Indian Ministry of Defence for the supply of approximately 169,872 CQB Carbines for the Indian Army and Navy. This procurement is part of a larger INR 27.70 billion program aimed at modernizing the armed forces and enhancing operational readiness. Deliveries are set to begin in 2026, with Bharat Forge Limited receiving the remaining 60% of the order.

PLR Systems Private Limited, a joint venture of Adani Defence & Aerospace and Israel Weapon Industries, has secured a CQB Carbine supply contract valued at INR 11.08 billion from the Indian Ministry of Defence. This contract, part of a INR 27.70 billion procurement programme, includes the supply of approximately 169,872 carbines for the Indian Army and Navy.
The carbines, chambered in 5.56 x 45 mm, are intended for close-combat roles and will replace older infantry weapons. The contract was signed on December 30, 2025, with deliveries to commence in 2026. Bharat Forge Limited received the remaining 60% of the order, valued at INR 16.62 billion for 255,128 units. The CQB Carbine programme aims to modernize the armed forces and enhance operational readiness against South Asian threats.
