PNG Government Confirms Progress on Papua LNG Project After Meetings with TotalEnergies in Singapore
PNG Petroleum Minister Jimmy Maladina has expressed the government's confidence in the Papua LNG Project following discussions in Singapore with TotalEnergies executives. The meetings addressed industry concerns about the project's timeline and confirmed clarity on its direction. The State is focused on completing the Development Forum and advancing licensing processes ahead of the Final Investment Decision (FID). Minister Maladina emphasized the constructive engagement with TotalEnergies on key commercial issues necessary for reaching FID this year.

Following earlier discussions in Davos, the State's engagement with TotalEnergies is aimed at ensuring alignment between partners. The National Petroleum Authority is working to complete the Development Forum and advance licensing processes in preparation for the Final Investment Decision (FID).
Kumul Petroleum Holdings Limited is also engaging with TotalEnergies on critical commercial issues. Minister Maladina stated that the project is progressing and aims for FID this year.
