Poland and Slovakia Discuss Gas Pipeline to Diversify Supply Sources
Slovakia's Eustream and Poland's GAZ-SYSTEM are exploring a gas pipeline to import LNG from Baltic ports to Central Europe, following the completion of a pipeline in 2022 with a capacity of 4.7 billion m³ per year that remains underutilized. Poland's LNG terminals are not yet fully operational for exports to Slovakia, which has increased gas imports from Hungary amid EU plans to ban Russian gas transport by 2027, highlighting the urgency for alternative supply routes.
