Poland Proposes Energy Supply Transition for Hungary
Poland aims to transform into a regional energy hub, offering to assist Hungary in diversifying gas supplies away from Russian hydrocarbons.

Poland's energy minister, Miłosz Motyka, announced plans to aid Hungary in reducing reliance on Russian hydrocarbons. Following the expansion of the Świnoujście LNG terminal, Poland is set to provide 8.3 billion cubic meters of gas annually, with an additional FSRU terminal in the Gdansk Bay projected to supply 6.1 billion cubic meters starting in 2028.
This initiative is significant for Central Europe's energy independence, though uncertainties remain regarding implementation and regional coordination. The success of these projects could reshape energy security strategies within the region.
