Poland to Increase Naftoport Capacity by 20% Amid Energy Security Concerns
Poland is set to increase the capacity of Naftoport by nearly 20% through ongoing expansion efforts. Minister of Energy Miłosz Motyka announced this at a press conference in Gdańsk, emphasizing the country's strategic diversification of energy supply sources, including the LNG terminal expansion in Świnoujście and the construction of an FSRU terminal in Gdańsk Bay. The government aims to ensure stable energy supplies at competitive prices, while also integrating Poland's energy infrastructure into NATO systems.
Poland will expand Naftoport's capacity by nearly 20% in the coming months, as announced by Minister of Energy Miłosz Motyka. The expansion aims to enhance energy security amid global supply concerns, particularly from the Middle East.
The country is diversifying its energy sources with the development of an LNG terminal in Świnoujście and a new FSRU terminal in Gdańsk Bay. The government is also working to connect Poland's oil and fuel infrastructure to NATO's systems. PERN manages over 2,500 km of pipelines and has 19 fuel depots with a total capacity exceeding 2.8 million cubic meters.
