Poland's Jantar Unity Ferry Achieves Strong Freight Performance in First Month on Baltic Sea Route
The Jantar Unity, Poland's largest domestic ferry, completed its first month of service on the Baltic Sea route from Świnoujście to Trelleborg, carrying 3,300 trucks and over 3,600 drivers. Supported by a government investment of one billion zlotys, the ferry is designed for heavy freight and operates with LNG engines for reduced emissions. Although passenger numbers are modest, Unity Line anticipates growth as awareness increases. The ferry completed 22 round trips in its first month, emphasizing the importance of ferry services for freight transport to Scandinavia.

The Jantar Unity ferry, launched on the Baltic Sea route between Świnoujście, Poland, and Trelleborg, Sweden, has completed its first month of operation. It transported over 3,300 large truck combinations, 184 shorter vehicles, and 392 semi-trailers, alongside 107 private passengers and 60 passenger cars.
The Polish government supported the project with one billion zlotys. Measuring 195.6 meters in length, the ferry can carry 400 passengers and has a cargo lane length of 4.1 km. Equipped with four LNG engines, it aims to reduce fuel consumption and emissions. Unity Line plans further fleet expansion by 2026 and expects passenger numbers to grow.
