Politecnico di Torino and OGR Launch Renewable Energy Community Initiative
Politecnico di Torino and OGR are establishing a Renewable Energy Community (CER) aimed at sharing surplus energy generated from new solar installations. This initiative is part of a broader effort to promote energy transition and collaboration among local entities in the region.

The Politecnico di Torino and OGR have initiated the formation of a Renewable Energy Community (CER), designed to facilitate the sharing of surplus renewable energy generated from new photovoltaic systems. This effort aligns with the upcoming operational rules set to be approved in early 2024, which support the European RED-II Directive and provide financial incentives for shared energy.
The CER will serve local municipalities, businesses, and citizens, promoting energy autonomy and efficiency. The project leverages the diverse energy demands of the campus, fostering collaboration among academia, startups, and enterprises to enhance dynamic management of the energy system. Additionally, the integration of advanced technologies, including AI, will be essential for future market adaptations starting in 2025.
