Port Tampa Bay Secures $10M Federal Funding for Navigation Project
Port Tampa Bay has been awarded $10 million in federal funding to enhance its navigation infrastructure, crucial for supply chain improvements across Florida.

The Tampa Harbor Navigation Improvement Project has received a total of $10 million in federal funding, comprising $3 million for planning and design and $7 million from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
This project, authorized by Congress in late 2024, aims to deepen the shipping channel by four feet along a 42-mile stretch, accommodating larger vessels. Construction is anticipated to commence in 2027, with expected long-term benefits including reduced transportation costs, increased cargo capacity, and enhanced access to global markets. The project will strengthen Florida's supply chain and support economic growth in the region.
