Power Grid Secures $158.7M Contract for Kuwait's Al Shaqaya Solar Power Project
The Kuwait Ministry of Electricity, Water, and Renewable Energy awarded a $158.7 million contract to Power Grid Company for the Al Shaqaya Solar Power Generation Station 400 kV Overhead Transmission Line project. This initiative connects the solar station to the Al Wafra substation and is part of the Shagaya Renewable Energy Project, which aims to generate 3.2GW of electricity from renewable sources by 2030.

The Ministry of Electricity, Water, and Renewable Energy in Kuwait has awarded a $158.7 million contract to Power Grid Company for the Al Shaqaya Solar Power Generation Station 400 kV Overhead Transmission Line project. The project will link the Al Shaqaya solar power station to the main substation in Al Wafra.
This initiative is part of the Shagaya Renewable Energy Project, which aims to produce approximately 3.2GW of renewable energy by 2030. Phase I includes a 50MW Concentrated Solar Power plant, a 10 MW Wind Farm, and a 10 MW Photovoltaic plant.
