PowerChina Completes 240 MW Khizi-Absheron Wind Power Plant in Azerbaijan
PowerChina Huadong Engineering Corporation Limited has completed the 240 MW Khizi-Absheron Wind Power Plant in Azerbaijan, featuring 37 wind turbines that will generate 1 billion kWh annually for over 300,000 households. Developed in partnership with Saudi Arabia's ACWA Power, the project is expected to save 220 million cubic meters of natural gas and reduce carbon emissions by over 400,000 tons each year, while also creating over 200 local jobs and enhancing community infrastructure.

PowerChina Huadong Engineering Corporation Limited (HDEC) completed the 240 MW Khizi-Absheron Wind Power Plant in Azerbaijan, with construction starting in March 2024 and commissioning in December 2025. The project includes 37 wind turbines, each 6.5 MW, generating 1 billion kWh annually for over 300,000 households.
This is Azerbaijan's largest wind power project, developed in collaboration with Saudi Arabia's ACWA Power, saving 220 million cubic meters of natural gas and reducing carbon emissions by over 400,000 tons yearly. The project created over 200 local jobs and improved community infrastructure.
