PPC Plans Major Expansion in Romania and CESE Region by 2030
PPC aims to triple its power capacity in Romania to 5.3 GW by 2030 through a EUR 24 billion investment plan. The company's strategic growth includes expanding into Italy, Bulgaria, Croatia, Hungary, Poland, and Slovakia, targeting a total capacity of 3.5 GW and 2.2 GW, respectively.

PPC is set to increase its installed capacity in Romania from 2025 to 2030, reaching 5.3 GW through significant investments in renewable energy sources (RES), storage, and new natural gas units. This growth is part of a broader EUR 24 billion strategic plan, supported by a EUR 4 billion capital increase through a share issue.
In addition to Romania, PPC plans to enhance its presence in Italy, Bulgaria, and Croatia, with a goal of 3.5 GW in these markets. The company also seeks to enter Hungary, Poland, and Slovakia, aiming for 2.2 GW in RES and storage across the CESE region. By 2030, 45% of PPC's capacity is expected to be outside Greece, diversifying its energy portfolio.
