President Murmu Highlights India's Defence Capabilities and Economic Growth in Republic Day Eve Address
In her address on the eve of India's 77th Republic Day, President Droupadi Murmu emphasized the nation's growing military capabilities, citing the Indian Air Force's combat readiness and the Indian Navy's INS Vikrant. She noted the success of Operation Sindoor, which targeted and destroyed terror infrastructure.
The President also mentioned her visit to the Siachen Base Camp, as well as her experiences flying in Sukhoi and Rafale fighter jets, reinforcing confidence in India's defence. She highlighted the significance of National Voters' Day and praised citizen participation in elections.
Additionally, she acknowledged India's youthful population and initiatives like 'Mera Yuva Bharat' aimed at fostering leadership and skills among young people. Murmu stated that India is the fastest-growing major economy, aiming for third-largest status, supported by the implementation of GST and labor reforms. She concluded by stressing environmental protection and India's commitment to global peace.
