Prime Minister Modi Visits Oman to Strengthen Bilateral Relations and Economic Cooperation

Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Muscat on December 17 for a two-day visit aimed at enhancing India-Oman bilateral relations, marking 70 years of diplomatic ties. The visit focuses on cooperation in trade, energy security, logistics, and regional stability.

Oman, strategically located at the Strait of Hormuz, plays a vital role in regional diplomacy and economic collaboration. Economic ties have expanded, with a focus on removing investment barriers and encouraging joint ventures.

Energy cooperation includes crude oil and LNG supplies from Oman to India, alongside renewable energy partnerships. The visit addresses the large Indian expatriate community and aims to enhance labor welfare and cultural exchanges.
