Province and BC Hydro Sign MOU for Ksi Lisims LNG Project in British Columbia
The province of British Columbia, BC Hydro, and the Nisga'a Lisims First Nation have signed a memorandum of understanding for the Ksi Lisims LNG project, which includes two floating natural gas platforms aimed at exporting up to 22.4 billion cubic meters of natural gas annually to Asian markets. With an estimated cost of $10 billion and the potential to attract $13 billion in investments, the project is expected to create thousands of jobs and will receive up to 600 megawatts of clean electricity from BC Hydro. Construction of the necessary North Coast Transmission Line is set to begin in 2026, with completion targeted for 2030.
