PT Garuda Yamato Steel Launches 6.5 MW Solar Power Plant in Indonesia
PT Garuda Yamato Steel (GYS) has commenced operations of a 6.5 MW solar power facility, marking a significant step in renewable energy investment within Indonesia's steel manufacturing sector. This initiative aims to enhance sustainability and reduce greenhouse gas emissions in line with national net-zero targets.

PT Garuda Yamato Steel (GYS) has inaugurated a 6.5 MW solar power plant on a 55,000 square meter site, in collaboration with iForte Energi. This facility will supply clean electricity to critical manufacturing operations, including steel melting and rolling plants, significantly decreasing the company’s greenhouse gas emissions.
The solar installation is integral to GYS's comprehensive decarbonization roadmap, positioning the company as a leader in sustainable manufacturing. GYS employs advanced technologies like Electric Arc Furnace (EAF) to minimize environmental impact and has established a strong material recovery ecosystem. The partnership with PLN Indonesia is crucial for achieving these sustainability goals and aligns with Indonesia's national net-zero emission targets.
