PteroDynamics Secures Contract to Supply Transwing VTOL Drones to Royal Australian Navy
PteroDynamics has been awarded a contract by the Royal Australian Navy to supply Transwing VTOL unmanned aircraft systems. The initial delivery of P4 Transwing UAS is set for spring 2026, with options for larger P5 systems starting in 2027.

PteroDynamics Inc. will provide the Royal Australian Navy (RAN) with P4 Transwing unmanned aircraft systems, including training and support, beginning in spring 2026. The contract allows RAN to opt for larger P5 systems for delivery starting in 2027.
This follows a successful demonstration in April 2025 showcasing the P4's capabilities for logistics missions. The P4 has a maximum take-off weight of 89 pounds and can carry a payload of 15 pounds. The P5 system is expected to have a take-off weight of 330 pounds, a range exceeding 400 nautical miles, and a payload capacity of 50 pounds. This contract enhances US-Australia defense collaboration, focusing on advanced autonomous systems.
