PTTEP Takes FID on SK405B Greenfield Oil Development Offshore Malaysia
PTTEP has made a final investment decision for its SK405B greenfield oil development offshore Malaysia, covering the Chenda and Sirung fields. The project includes a new central processing and wellhead platform, engineered for zero routine flaring, with first oil expected in 2028 and a production capacity of 15,000 bbl/d. PTTEP partners with PETRONAS Carigali and Mitsui Energy Development Co. The company is involved in over 10 projects in Malaysia and has increased gas sales from the Arthit Field in Thailand.

PTTEP has taken a final investment decision on its SK405B project, marking its first greenfield oil development offshore Malaysia. The project, located in the SK405B production sharing contract in Sarawak, will develop the Chenda and Sirung oil fields using a new central processing platform and a wellhead platform.
The facilities will be designed for zero routine flaring, with first oil anticipated in 2028 and a production capacity of approximately 15,000 bbl/d. PTTEP is the operator, partnering with PETRONAS Carigali and Mitsui Energy Development Co.
Currently, PTTEP is engaged in over 10 projects across Malaysia. Additionally, the company has increased natural gas sales from its Arthit Field in Thailand from 280 to 330 MMcf/d.
