Punjab CM Unveils Rs23 Billion Development Plans for Katcha Region
The Punjab government is investing Rs23 billion in the Katcha area to enhance infrastructure and social services. Key initiatives include land distribution, educational improvements, and law enforcement enhancements.

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif announced a Rs23 billion development initiative targeting the Katcha area. The program includes the construction of schools, hospitals, roads, and bridges, with allocations of Rs7.1 billion for law and order, Rs13.9 billion for social infrastructure, and Rs1.7 billion for other services.
The initiative features land distribution of 14,500 acres to local residents and the launch of the 'Apna Khet, Apna Rozgar' program. To further support the community, 65 schools will be constructed or upgraded, and 300 scholarships and laptops will be awarded to students.
Digital monitoring of illegal weapon returns and NADRA registration will also be implemented. This comprehensive development approach may enhance living standards and security in the region.
