PWC Allocates $57.6M for Electric Infrastructure to Support Titanium Plant Project Aero
Fayetteville Public Works Commission plans to invest $57.6 million to enhance electricity supply for the Project Aero titanium recycling facility. This project is part of a broader $2.95 billion capital improvement strategy over the next decade, addressing various infrastructure needs in the region.

The Fayetteville Public Works Commission (PWC) is set to invest $57.6 million over four years to establish electrical infrastructure for the Project Aero titanium recycling plant, which is projected to be operational by 2029. This investment is part of PWC’s overall $2.95 billion capital improvement program for the next ten years, which includes projects for PFAS filtration, water service expansion, and solar energy initiatives.
The proposed fiscal 2027 operating budget stands at $450.1 million, reflecting a decrease of 1.9% from the previous year. The Project Aero facility will require 85 megawatts of electricity, necessitating significant upgrades to PWC's grid, including a new electrical substation and power line rebuilds. These developments may enhance regional energy capacity and reliability, potentially influencing local economic growth.
