QinetiQ Secures £67M Contract for DragonFire Laser Weapons with Royal Navy
QinetiQ has been awarded a £67 million ($90 million) contract by MBDA to develop and produce the laser source for the DragonFire system, enhancing the Royal Navy's military capabilities. This contract supports around 120 QinetiQ jobs, mainly in southern England, and involves over 100 UK suppliers, including 50 small and medium-sized enterprises.
Concurrently, nLight reported preliminary results for Q4 2025, expecting revenues between $78 million and $80 million, exceeding prior estimates. The company anticipates Laser Products revenue of $54 million to $55 million and Advanced Development revenue of $24 million to $25 million, driven by strong aerospace and defense market performance. nLight's leadership expressed confidence in the company's growth prospects for 2026.
