Qunnect Appoints Scott Faris to Board as Company Expands Quantum Networking in New York and Berlin
Qunnect has appointed Scott Faris, CEO of Eqlipse Quantum, to its Board of Directors to support the expansion of its metro-scale quantum networking. The company's Carina system operates entanglement-based quantum networks over commercial fiber in cities including New York and Berlin, achieving over 99% fidelity without cryogenics.
Faris, with prior leadership experience at Luminar Semiconductor and Infleqtion, will aid in Qunnect's commercialization efforts and entry into new markets like Albuquerque. The Carina system's recent developments include a partnership with Deutsche Telekom to extend network capabilities to 100 kilometers.
Qunnect's technology allows for secure communications in finance, telecom, energy, and defense sectors, backed by U.S. government partnerships. The company aims to establish itself as a key player in the billion-dollar quantum networking market.
