The Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) has received its first MC-55A Peregrine aircraft at RAAF Base Edinburgh, marking a significant step in enhancing its electronic warfare and intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance capabilities. This acquisition, part of a 2019 foreign military sales deal, will replace the aging AP-3C Orion and integrate into Australia's joint warfighting networks. Additional support facilities are planned at various bases to facilitate operational testing and evaluation.

The Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) has received the first of four MC-55A Peregrines at RAAF Base Edinburgh, South Australia, following delays from a 2019 foreign military sales deal. The aircraft's arrival was documented by an aviation photographer.
Ahead of its arrival, facilities have been built and crew trained for operational tests and evaluations. Additional support facilities are planned at RAAF Base Darwin, RAAF Base Townsville, and the Cocos (Keeling) Islands.
The MC-55A, based on a modified Gulfstream G550 airframe, is designed for electronic warfare and intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance missions, replacing the AP-3C Orion's capabilities as part of the Air 555 Phase I initiative. It will be integrated into Australia’s joint warfighting networks, linking various military platforms.
