RapidFort Secures $42M in Series A Funding to Enhance Software Supply Chain Security

DEFENSE

RapidFort, a San Francisco-based startup, raised $42 million in a Series A funding round led by Blue Cloud Ventures and Forgepoint Capital. The funding aims to commercialize its internally developed technology for software supply chain security, responding to increasing customer demand driven by compliance and open-source risks.

Founded in 2020, RapidFort has raised nearly $53 million to date, including an $8.5 million seed round in June 2022. The company, which currently employs 85 people, is led by CEO Mehran Farimani, a former CEO of Percipio.

RapidFort plans to leverage the new capital to enhance its platform capabilities and address emerging market needs, while also maintaining engagement with U.S. defense agencies. The startup focuses on providing secure software images that integrate seamlessly into existing development workflows, aiming to reduce risks associated with third-party components and meet evolving compliance requirements.
