Rashid Petroleum Company (Rashpetco) aims to double its natural gas production by the fiscal year 2029/2030, as announced by the Ministry of Petroleum. This goal is part of a five-year expansion plan involving Rashpetco, Burullus Gas Company, and the Mina West offshore field within the West Delta Deep Marine (WDDM) concession.
The strategy emphasizes maximizing current infrastructure and attracting new investments to ensure domestic gas supplies ahead of peak summer demand. Rashpetco and Burullus, operating as joint ventures with the Egypt General Petroleum Company and overseen by the Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company, collaborate with international partners Shell and Petronas.
Drilling at the Mina West field is set to start next month, with initial production expected to reach 160 million cubic feet of gas and 1,900 barrels of condensate per day by Q4 2026. Additionally, WDDM's Phase 12-A project, a $350 million investment, is set to begin in Q1 2027, projected to add 150 million cubic feet of gas and 2,700 barrels of condensate daily.
