Raytheon Secures SeaRAM Contract for Australia's Sea3000 Frigates
Raytheon has obtained a contract from Mitsubishi Heavy Industries to deliver SeaRAM systems for the Sea3000 program, aimed at upgrading Australia's naval capabilities. This contract includes the supply of launchers, test vehicles, and technical support for three frigates being constructed in Japan.
Raytheon will supply SeaRAM ship self-defense systems for Australia's Sea3000 General Purpose Frigate program, replacing the retiring Anzac-class frigates with 11 Mogami-class frigates. Deliveries are scheduled to commence in late 2028, focusing on the first three ships being built by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries in Japan.
The agreement encompasses SeaRAM launchers, Blast Test Vehicles, and technical services to facilitate installation and testing. This contract is significant for enhancing Australia's maritime defense and reflects ongoing defense collaboration between Japan and Australia.
