ROBOTICS

Red Deer Polytechnic (RDP) is expanding its Centre for Innovation in Manufacturing - Technology Access Centre (CIM-TAC), with construction expected to finish by July 2026. The expansion will increase the facility from 15,000 to 25,000 square feet, focusing on advanced manufacturing technologies, including Industry 4.0 and robotics.

Currently, the project is at the rough-in stage, with mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems being installed. New equipment is set to arrive in May, followed by commissioning. The Government of Alberta funded the project with $12.9 million. The expanded facility will support approximately 450 post-secondary students annually and enhance training for an additional 2,000 learners by 2030.
