Reganosa's Mugardos Energy Terminal in Spain to Supply Bio-LNG for Marine Fuels
Reganosa Group's Mugardos Energy Terminal in Galicia is set to supply bio-LNG as marine fuel, having received ISCC EU certification. This certification ensures traceability of renewable gas volumes through a mass-balance approach. Bio-LNG, recognized for reducing greenhouse gas emissions by up to 92%, can be used in existing dual-fuel LNG ships. The terminal, commissioned in 2007, has a storage capacity of 300,000 m3 of LNG and aims to enhance its role in the energy transition by offering this cleaner alternative.

The Mugardos Energy Terminal in Galicia, owned by Reganosa Group, is now ready to supply bio-LNG for marine fuel following its ISCC EU certification. This allows the terminal to trace renewable gas volumes using a mass-balance system.
Bio-LNG can reduce net CO₂ emissions by up to 92% compared to traditional heavy fuel oil and is compatible with existing dual-fuel LNG vessels. The terminal, operational since 2007, features two tanks with a total capacity of 300,000 m3. The initiative supports the decarbonization goals set by the FuelEU Maritime regulation and strengthens the terminal's role in the energy transition.
