Regensdorf to Develop District Heating Network Using Data Center Waste Heat

Energie 360° is constructing a district heating network in Regensdorf, set to supply regional heating and hot water to numerous buildings. The first heat delivery is anticipated in autumn 2026, with an expected annual reduction of 12,000 tons of CO2 by using waste heat from local data centers operated by Green in Dielsdorf.

Construction work on Althardstrasse will commence on August 31, 2026, and is scheduled to last until mid-October 2026, causing temporary traffic disruptions. Existing pedestrian crossings will remain accessible outside the construction area; however, some noise will occur during the operations. This initiative highlights a significant step towards sustainable energy solutions in the region, though ongoing construction may impact local traffic patterns and accessibility.
